If you’re someone who loves to travel, but have been putting it off until your children are older, don’t worry. There are still options for having both that don’t involve having to wait 18 years to go traveling again.
In fact, traveling is very beneficial for children, so if you’ve ever thought that it might be too much for them, or that it’s going to be impractical for you to plan a bigger trip as a family, such as an African Safari, then here are some tips to help you get started and hopefully see that it’s not as difficult as what you may have imagined it to be.

Set a realistic budget:
Traveling with the whole family is certainly not something that’s going to be easy on the wallet, however, that doesn’t mean that your memories and quality time as a family need to be put on hold, so the best thing you can do when researching and planning your trip is to make sure that you set yourself a realistic budget that you know you can manage without putting any strain on yourself financially.
A trip like this may take a while to save for, but you’d be surprised by just how much you can put aside each month over the course of a year if you’re sensible and are even able to cut back on things you don’t really need.
Allow everyone a must-do activity:
When you’re planning your trip, if it’s going to be for the whole family – especially if it’s something like a trip to Africa, that will likely be a once in a lifetime experience – it’s important to remember that it’s a trip everyone should enjoy and be included in.
A good way to approach this is by allowing everyone a choice of a must-do activity during the trip, such as a place they’d like to see or something they’d really like to experience so that everyone can really enjoy it as much as possible.
